Microsoft Project training at your own offices across Yorkshire from £55pp

MS Project is the most widely used project management tool, but many users are not getting full benefit from the software. This due in large part  to the fact that Microsoft Project is notoriously difficult to teach one’s self. There are many ‘traps’ which inexperienced users often fall into and it is very easy to get into bad habits.

Microsoft Project ‘Constraints’

One such bad habit is the practice of entering ‘start’ and ‘finish’ dates for tasks. Whilst it would appear sensible to define tasks in this way, it is in fact something which is almost never done in Microsoft Project. This is because in doing so we inadvertently set what MS Project refers to as a ‘constraint’. Such constraints prevent the software from automatically rescheduling should the need arise, thereby robbing the application of much of it’s value. In fact Microsoft Project was designed to be as flexible as possible and has a number of features which allow the user to see the effects of changes to the plan, at any time throughout the life of the project. The plan does however have to be set up correctly in order to exploit these features to the full.

Structured MS Project Training

There is an old adage which says that “we don’t know what we don’t know”  – and this is where undergoing a little properly structured training pays off. In just 1 day we can teach you all the fundamentals you require in order to start scheduling your projects correctly and efficiently. Our fully qualified trainers will show you how Microsoft Project was originally designed to be used, allowing the full value of the software to be derived. Onsite training at your own offices in Yorkshire starts from as little as £55 per person, based upon 10 individuals on a course. For full details including our daily training rates, please visit the Onsite Training page.
